If I am not for myself, who is for me
But if I am for my own self only, what am i,
And if not now, when

Entertainment, The O'Reilly Factor, CNN, National Geographic, Court TV, Fox & Friends, VH1, ABC World News, Fuji TV (Japan), MSNBC, Forbes.com, CNN.com, WE TV, PBS and I’m interviewed by national magazines and newspapers (NY Times, Chicago Tribune, Detroit Free Press, Boston Globe, Atlanta Constitution, The Washington Post, The Week, Wall Street Journal, Working Woman, Redbook, Ladies' Home Journal, Self, Real Simple, Cosmo, Latina, Men's Health) where I comment on current topics in the news. I try to contribute daily tweets on Twitter, so please take a look and, if you want, follow me @drpatfarrell. You’ll also find me in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. If you wish to see more on my background, I am listed on Linkedin and I am a member of AFTRA (American Federation of Television & Radio Artists).
My writings include chapters in professional books, articles and my own books, How to Be Your Own Therapist (McGraw-Hill) available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble online. The book has been translated into two versions of Chinese, French and Portuguese. My latest book, It’s Not All in Your Head, is available from Amazon. There are links to both beneath the books’ covers in the left-hand margin, so just click on them.
A Kindle version of “It’s Not All in Your Head” is now available.
Continuing education is also something where I contribute and I’ve prepared modules for healthcare professionals on MS (Behaviorlhealth), writing Social Security Disability (Healthforumonline) reports for adults and one for children’s Disability reports for HealthForumOnline. A new CE course on medical disorders and psychiatric symptoms is now available. I’ve also written exam prep questions for a psychiatry USMLE course.
My philosophy is simple; all of us, especially healthcare professionals, have a responsibility to give back to our community. This website is one of the ways in which I hope to fulfill that mandate. I hope that you do find it helpful.
Please remember that these pages are intended to serve as starting points for searching out material which you may find useful in a variety of areas. It is not an exhaustive resource and the presence of a link simply means you may want to look at it, not that it is the ultimate authority nor should you give it any inordinate amount of weight. Be sure to scroll down the pages because you’ll find much more.
BULLYING MODULE: Too many kids are the victims of bullying both in school and on the internet. Here’s a link to a Teaching Module on Bullying from The American Psychological Association. Please pass it around to every teacher and counselor you know.

Good News: “50 Things to Do When You Turn 50”, for which I wrote a chapter and donated my royalties to breast cancer research, has realized $100K in royalties as a result of the multiple authors who all donated their writing. It is hardcover and was published in Fall 2010. Your support will aid cancer research.
PLEASE NOTE: I do not offer either therapy or advice via the internet or email. While I appreciate the interest that people have shown in their outreaches to me via email, I cannot do this and will not respond to these notes. I would recommend that anyone who is experiencing personal difficulties seek out a qualified, licensed psychologist in their area.
We expect to begin offering reasonably priced ebooks that will deal with issues of mental health and certain other subject areas which will serve to benefit persons with any mental diagnosis. Please watch for them. We will be making an announcement on Twitter (@drpatfarrell) and on this page when the first is ready for purchase. I do appreciate your support and am striving to make these books as helpful as possible.
